Over the course of 6 weeks, you will learn THE SCIENCE OF SAFETY through 4 robust modules informed by Polyvagal Theory. Through this lens of the Polyvagal Theory; our deepest pain, traumas, symptoms, survival adaptations and coping mechanisms finally make sense.

BODY ATTUNEMENT

We start with a comprehensive overview of the self-protective autonomic nervous system and how we move through different survival states, and how we recover through the pathways of finding safety and connection (regulation). Plus, the “cost” of being stuck in a constant state of protection and survival stress (dysregulation) and how this manifests in a myriad of symptoms and imbalances.

REGULATING THE BODY

We see how our brain and nervous system were originally ‘wired’ as infants, and what we want to happen for optimal self-regulation and health. And, what happens when it doesn’t go as nature intended. We uncover how it is still playing out today; whether that's through either co-regulation or co-dysregulation, and how co-dysregulation leads our nervous system into chaos & stuckness. We explore what we may *use* outside of ourselves to find safety and regulation when we don't have a natural baseline for self-regulation.

BEFRIENDING YOUR PROTECTIVE SELF

This module goes right to the heart of what is known as the Poly-vagal Theory. We dig deeper into the ‘freeze’ and immobility response, why it is essential, but also why it can get us into nervous system trouble when left stuck on for too long. We learn how external events became our physical wellbeing and chronic "syndromes", and we practice building capacity to  uncouple from these events.

EMBODIED SAFETY

We dive into the different kinds of memories – procedural and declarative; or implicit and explicit – that humans have. We explore the ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ ways to tackle stressful events, and why working with and healing early and developmental trauma is more about restoring nervous system regulation and less about “releasing” trauma. We learn how to build capacity to facilitate and aid in healthy aggression, as well as stress resilience to maintain good healing and good flow in the body.

Can I join if I don’t experience PCOS?

PCOS is only one spectrum of how unresolved trauma and a dysregulated nervous system manifests. What you learn in this course will be deeply impactful, regardless of whether you are experiencing PCOS or not.

I work with clients, but I myself am struggling and unwell. Will this help me??

YES it can! There are so many helpers, healers, and practitioners out there who got into their work because they were unwell, and then managed to get better and wanted to help others, but who still struggle with persistent symptoms, low energy, or a tendency to burn out.

Often, this is because the things they found to help them weren’t getting to the root cause, but rather were more based in symptom management. So they continue to go up and down in their health and well-being.

We begin the Unclench journey with a 'Welcome' section and a 'Pre-Course Warm Up' series that provides time to get familiar with the gentle pace of learning, the program platform, to ask questions about how the things work, and as well as introduce yourself (this is optional) via our community area.

Is Unclench is right for me?

If you tend to live mostly in your head, experience stubborn health issues such as PCOS, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, autoimmune, endometriosis, migraine headaches, severe PMS, IBS, etc. You feel numbed out, dissociated, disconnected from your body and not connected to the present moment. You have trouble expressing anger – either not at all, or way too much. You hold low self-confidence or self-worth that gets in the way of being authentic and courageous and moving forward in life (in small and big ways). You have trouble sleeping or staying asleep (or the opposite: needing A LOT of sleep but never feeling rested). You feel anxious and/or depressed, burned out, overwhelmed, or even completely exhausted. And, you have difficulty setting clear boundaries and getting needs met, and/or stay in unsupportive relationships... then Unclench is exactly right for you. 

Why do I need to learn this stuff?

Most people try to jump into healing without first doing the foundational work.

Imagine trying to grow a rose without connection to its foundational roots deep into the earth. Impossible, right?

Growing more nervous system regulation and capacity, which gives us the space to heal and organically and safely release old traumas, as well as restore health back to the human body, requires strong and resilient foundations to be put in place first.

This is why Unclench has a "foundations first" approach, which means to grow nervous system capacity by becoming more skilled at understanding and navigating your body's internal felt experiences and your relationship to the environment, first. 

This “skill building” is what the programs comprehensive education and practices teach you.

I've done courses before, how is this different?

The nervous system drives our entire well-being, and until we get these essential foundations in place, it’s hard for deep healing to take place and most importantly stick.

Most other courses completely miss the nervous system piece altogether. They never stop to ask, "Is this woman feeling safe right now in her environment and body?".

So if your other courses have never talked to you about the Fight, Flight or Freeze Response -- or most importantly, they've never taught you how to WORK with those survival energies (to change them or disarm them) -- then that's probably why you're still stuck.

Unclench is your course to uncovering all of this information in one place, that you'd be challenged to find elsewhere in the healing and health arena, so you can begin to heal for real.

Why is this course for 6 weeks?

This timeframe is on purpose.

This is because there needs to be time and space for content repetition so you can truly take your time. The modern world is so fixated on fast-pace, I do not wish to perpetuate or contribute to this pressure and problem.

So, we go at a slower pace and digest the information in a healthy way that honours the body's capacity for new learning and integration.

Of course, everyone is different, I am just a big believer that slow and steady is best. It is way too much for our delicate nervous system to be faced with all the content at once, so the content drops weekly with a 1 week pause in between module 2 and module 3.

Rest, integration and repetition, as well as time to catch up if you are behind, are all crucial elements of nervous system healing are built into the course for that reason.

How much time do I need to dedicate per week to the course?

With the modules and practices, the course would take up about around 2 hours per week to complete.

But, (and this is a BIG but) I fully recommend listening to your body and letting her show you what she has capacity for and honouring the pace needed to go/flow with. You have lifetime access for this reason.

This course isn't about being a 'good student' by any means. That earlier school conditioning is very much how we learned to override the body's boundaries and organic impulses, in order to speed up/keep up, and our intention is to reclaim what feels good and drop the 'shoulds' and 'have to' narratives.

What can I expect to experience during/after this course?

It really depends on your starting point. What I can say is that you'll experience a greater understanding of your energies and how your body actually works in times of stress and safety, and for many it gives them an aha moment of "so that's why this and why that happens/happened!".

I'll also mention that this education relieves the feeling that "there is something wrong with me but I cannot put words to it." The module videos bring so much more understanding of the body, which creates more compassion and acceptance for why things happened the way they did, in relation to our health, ourselves and others.

Also a deeper knowing that any "rupture" to the relationship you have with yourself and with others really can be healed through the tools you learn - self-awareness, learning how to accept and feel all the feels, and knowing how to expand your systems capacity to handle/process stress and cultivate a felt sense of internal safety.

Most have a huge sense in every fibre of their being that this has been the missing piece for them, especially as the educational videos and  practices/exercises that help to support a greater sense of emotional health, stress relief, mental calm and more energy and alertness, even a renewed sense of presence in the world and zest for life.

Is there a community I can connect with during/after?

YES. I am a big believer in asking for help and receiving support. 

When the course commences you'll be invited into our in-house community area where you’re able to connect with your peers and you can ask Hannah questions about your learning experience. This group is totally your space to ask for help and support others in their journey. The group is not a space for Hannah to coach you 1:1 but more so a communal space for any reflections and discussion points relating to course content. 

What if I don't feel safe to connect to my body?

This is an understandable and common fear. Because the course is pre-recorded, you can pace yourself based on your capacity and just needing more time. This work gives you many tools to cultivate your capacity to feel the things inside of you that seem scary and impossible to feel.

How long will I have access to the Unclench content?

Your investment includes lifetime access to the course and community. 

What is your refund policy?

We have a no refund policy from when you have access to the course. This is because this course is for committed participants only. You are expected to honour your investment, your health, and show up for yourself 100%. You are also getting immediate access to the community as well as unlimited access to the course upon enrolment. The content is a powerful agent of change. Please know this course aims to provide a deeper internal shift, not a quick fix. We ask that you find your own pace and apply yourself to the material.
